Crafts Galore: White Pine Hobby offers a variety of crafting supplies

May 03, 2023

White Pine Hobby owned by White Pine Natives, Alisha McFadden and Terry Malone, is prepared to help the community with all its craft needs.

The hobby store specializes in R/C products but also carries Plus Plus, 3D puzzles, models, STEM/STEAM kits, trains, Diamond Dotz painting and so much more.

"We literally have hundreds of Diamond Dotz supplies to choose from," Malone said. "We also have lights and other accessories, to include loose or replacement drills, for your Diamond painting needs."

"Plus Plus sets and tubes great for fine motor skills and creative thinking. We sell tubes, puzzles, tubs, or boxed sets. Prices range from $5.99 and up"

Among the other merchandise sold, it sells flat building blocks, similar to Legos but a safer alternative.

"They come in two sizes to meet the needs of any age group and can be built into anything "Malone said. "You or your loved one can built unicorns, cars, dinosaurs, or anything m your heart desires. The best part? They don't hurt like Legos when you step on them."

The shop also sells several 4D puzzles and diagrams of several farm animals and dinosaurs.

"These show all the anatomy of the critter you’re putting together. One side shows the skin/flesh, the other shows the bones and organs through the clear plastic," Malone said "They are intricate little pieces that you put together to make a masterpiece. Hours of fun and exploration for your science and/or puzzle lover"

The store has a variety of acrylic paints in stock that can be paired with the wooden puzzles also sold at the store.

"We brought these in because of the wooden puzzles we sell, which can be painted, but they can be used for so much more than that," Malone said.

The store now has a 3D Printer on hand that it uses to create new items to be sold to customers.

"This beauty will be used to create new products for our customers," Malone said. "We want to ensure we are offering the best for them."

As the store continues to bring high quality items to the area, it also brings good deals as it regularly holds closeout sales.

"We have a lot of items on closeout as we try to make room for new items," Malone said. "We need to sell the items we have because, simply put, we need more space."

"We have something for almost everyone so please don't hesitate to stop in and take a look," the owners said.

Although they have an extensive catalog they urge shoppers to inform them if they do not carry a certain product because they may be able to order it for them.

"If we don't have something you’re looking for, don't hesitate to ask. If we can get it through one of our vendors, we are happy to place the order."

White Pine Hobby is happy to be a part of the area and has had a great time meeting the members of the community.

"We are super excited to be a part of the White Pine community and I have had a wonderful time getting to know several of our neighbors and friends."

However, the store doesn't only sell high quality craft items, it also regularly hosts drag races in its parking lot.

"We built a drag tree to give stocker drivers a chance to get out here and see how it works." Malone said.

"We make it easier for people to participate since we sell touring car classes, which includes Kyosho Fazer, Traxxas 4-Tec, HPI, etc. We have several of these options in stock for those who want to join us."

"Just to be clear, you do not have to have purchased a vehicle from us to join in this fun. This is open to anyone who has a vehicle that meets the specs."

"The rules are simple, there is no buy in, and we are going to run on donations for upkeep on the system. Allowed changes include, Body, tires, wheels, radio and receiver, pinion and spur gears providing they work with the stock slipper clutch."

The store is located on 1210 State Street in White Pine and is open Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
