Squishmallows coming to Happy Meals at McDonald's across the US

Squishmallows, the soft, squishy stuffed toys loved by kids, will soon be coming to McDonald's restaurants across the U.S. as the featured toys in Happy Meals.

Jazwares, the company that produces cuddly toys, is partnering with the famous chain restaurant for the promotion, which will include 24 collectable Squishmallows, according to a Jazwares release issued Tuesday.

Alongside the squishy friends, 14 of the stuffed animals will have a playlist matching their personality created by Universal Music Group that can be used by scanning an included QR code. While the release did not specify which artists would be featured, Universal Music Group has worked with a multitude of artists, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Eagles and ABBA.

"Adding exclusive music playlists to our toys is a first for Happy Meal and we are extremely proud to collaborate with Jazwares’ Squishmallows, the #1 plush brand worldwide, and Universal Music Group on this initiative," Jennifer DelVecchio, the senior director of global campaigns and alliances at McDonald's, said in the release.

Every McDonald's restaurant participating in the partnership will have 10 to 12 of the Squishmallows to drop in Happy Meals, the release said.

It has not yet been announced when the toys will be included in Happy Meals across the country.

Squishmallows rose in popularity during 2020. The stuffed toys range from 3.5 inches to 24 inches tall and are typically sold at retail stores like Walgreens, Kroger, Walmart, Target, Five Below and more. There are thousands of the animals, with each one having a name and personality, including hobbies and interests, which can be found on their tags.
